Immigrant Forum Starting in January 2020, the Office of Community Affairs, Immigrant Services team, is the leader and facilitator of the San Mateo County Immigrant Forum, established in 2014.
SMC Removal Defense Fund & Rapid Response NetworkIn September 2018, San Mateo County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved funding to support a rapid response network and local non-profit legal service organizations to assist in representing San Mateo County residents in removal defense. They have continued this funding through August 2022!
County Language Access Services Available With support from the Board of Supervisors, all County staff now have access to interpretation services for over 200 unique languages. Residents can visit any County department and be helped with the language of their choice.
Welcoming WeekThe Office of Community Affairs is pleased to recognize and celebrate Welcoming Week each year in September. Welcoming Week is an annual campaign and celebration to showcase the movement of communities striving to be more welcoming places for all, including migrants.
