  • Redwood City – The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, in the new Board Chambers at 500 County Center, Redwood City. Link to agenda.

    This will be the Board’s first meeting in the new location. The new Board Chambers is located on the first floor of 500 County Center, located next door to the Hall of Justice at 400 County Center, the Board's meeting location for decades.

    The public can enter the building from a pedestrian plaza between 400, 500 and 555 County Center. (Google map link to County Center.)

    Visitors will be screened by security personnel at metal detectors prior to entry. 

    500 County Center
    Entry to the new 500 County Center is to the left (east) of the entrance to 400 County Center, the former home of the Board of Supervisors.

    Visiting 500 County Center

    Parking: The County Parking Structure, located on Middlefield Road, just south of Veterans Boulevard, provides the most convenient parking for visitors. Parking is $1 per hour, with a four-hour maximum. Pay at the meter near the elevator. Payment methods include debit/credit cards, coins and paper bills, and receipts are issued.

    Another parking option is at a nearby public garage operated by Redwood City. It is between Jefferson Avenue and Main Street. Entry is from either Marshall Street or Broadway.

    Metered street parking is also available. 

    Public Transportation: If you prefer to use public transportation, you may visit 511.org to plan your trip. Caltrain, SamTrans and Bay Area Bike Share stations are all close by.

    Driving Directions:

    Southbound (from San Francisco)

    • Take 101 South to WHIPPLE AVENUE exit (this places you on VETERANS BOULEVARD)
    • Continue on VETERANS BOULEVARD for 0.6 miles
    • Turn right on MIDDLEFIELD ROAD
    • Make immediate right to park in the Government Center Parking Structure (the older garage on the left). First floor parking only.

    Northbound (from San Jose)

    • Take Hwy 101 North to HIGHWAY 84 WEST/WOODSIDE ROAD exit
    • Keep left at the fork and merge onto WOODSIDE ROAD
    • Turn right on VETERANS BOULEVARD and proceed for .8 miles
    • Turn left on MIDDLEFIELD ROAD
    • Make immediate right to park in the Government Center Parking Structure (the older garage on the left). First floor parking only.

    From Highway 280 North

    • Take HIGWAY 84/WOODSIDE ROAD exit and turn right onto WOODSIDE ROAD. Proceed for approximately 4 miles.
    • Turn left on VETERANS BOULEVARD and proceed for .8 miles
    • Turn left on MIDDLEFIELD ROAD
    • Make immediate right to park in the Government Center Parking Structure (the older garage on the left). First floor parking only.

    From Highway 280 South

    • Take HIGHWAY 84/WOODSIDE ROAD exit and turn left onto WOODSIDE ROAD. Proceed for approximately 4 miles.
    • Turn left on VETERANS BOULEVARD and proceed for .8 miles
