We are also looking for nominations the Patriot of the Year (a resident who has demonstrated exceptional service to the County’s veterans and veteran community) and the Enterprise Support Partner of the Year (a for-profit or non-for-profit corporation that has demonstrated exemplary service to the County’s veteran community)?

The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors at its July 12, 2016 meeting appointed Acting Sheriff Carlos Bolanos as Sheriff to finish out the two years remaining in the term of former Sheriff Greg Munks who announced his retirement last month due to health reasons.

Today the Information Services Department of the County of San Mateo announced that it now has 24 SMC Public WiFi sites across the County.
It was a pleasure to join the MidPeninsula Regional Open Space District for their annual Legislative Picnic on the patio of the recently opened Cooley Landing Facility at the Ravenswood Open Space Preserve in East Palo Alto. It's such a beautiful place!
The Board of Supervisors accepts the Children, Youth and Families Budget for Fiscal Year 2015-2017, a document that summarizes budgets from across County departments to provide a holistic view of the County’s financial and philosophical commitment to the more than 160,000 residents under the age 18.
On July 12, 2016, the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors appointed Carlos Bolanos Acting Sheriff of San Mateo County to finish out the two years remaining in the term of former Sheriff Greg Munks who stepped down for health reasons. The Board of Supervisors is grateful to have seasoned leadership in the ranks of our law enforcement and the department is fortunate to have a team of professionals that have worked closely together for several years. The County and its cities are in good hands.
On June 18th the Probation Department participated in the 14th Annual Dad and Me @ the Park Festival. This event, sponsored by the County’s Fatherhood Collaborative, was a fun, free, outdoor educational and resource fair that hoped to engage hundreds of children, fathers and families from all throughout San Mateo County.
