May 2024 CRISP Stakeholder Engagement Event

The County of San Mateo’s coastside infrastructure has deteriorated over the years and is prone to failure. Just in February of this year, nearly 38,000 coastside residents went without power due to heavy storms. Without power, internet and cell service lines can be severely impacted. In such situations, residents may have a difficult time reaching emergency responders, and emergency responders may struggle to reach isolated areas of the coast.

Board of Supervisors Unanimously Approves $30 Livable Wage for County Employees

Redwood City – The Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved a resolution that increases the base wage for regular County employees to $30 an hour.

Supervisors Approve Appointments to Independent Civilian Advisory Commission on the Sheriff’s Office

Redwood City – San Mateo County supervisors today voted unanimously to appoint seven residents to the first Independent Civilian Advisory Commission on the Sheriff’s Office.

Supervisors Allocate $40 Million to Spur New Affordable Housing

Redwood City – San Mateo County supervisors today allocated more than $40 million to spur the development of new affordable housing. More than $21 million in funding is from the voter-approved Measure K half-cent sales tax, which provides local funds for local needs. Spread across seven projects, the funds would contribute to creating 431 new units of affordable housing from Daly City to Menlo Park.

The program aims to enhance community safety by encouraging residents to turn in fireworks, which are illegal in all of San Mateo County, with the exception of the cities of Pacifica and San Bruno.
