Updates as of noon, Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020: Fire Update Favorable weather conditions – higher humidity and lower temperatures – assisted firefighters overnight. As of this morning, the fire has consumed a total of 78,869 acres across San Mateo and Santa Cruz counties with 17 percent containment. No estimate is given on full containment. The fire has destroyed 246 homes, damaged 21 homes and damaged or destroyed approximately 95 additional structures. One fatality has been reported.
