The San Mateo County Fish and Game Propagation Fund allows the County to disperse 50% matching funding for projects that provide maximum public benefit through the protection, conservation, propagation and preservation of fish and wildlife in San Mateo County. Projects must comply with Section 13103 of the California Fish and Game Code. Prospective projects will be prioritized over retrospective projects.
In 2023, a $10,000 grant was awarded to the Net Pen Program to advance the propagation of Chinook salmon populations in San Mateo County and Northern California.
