About the Project

The slip-out repair project will repair the failing embankments and damaged pavements near 1780 Higgins Canyon Road. The work to be done consists, in general, of installing soldier piles and lagging retaining wall, tiebacks, drainage improvements, and installing a rock slope protection revetment with plantings, and erosion control/slope protection.

UPDATES
  • January 2023 - Subsurface geotechnical investigation completed.
  • February 2023 - Consultant has performed laboratory test for subsurface soils from corings at 3 different locations on site.
  • March 2023 - Consultant is preparing a draft geotechnical report for the repair recommendations.
  • May 2023 - Field Meeting with FEMA for site assessment and repair scope development.
  • June 2023 - Received and reviewing Geotechnical Investigation Report.
  • July 2023 - Awaiting Contractor to develop proposal for repair work.  Environmental team working with regulatory agencies for permitting work.

  • November 2023 - Starting design work and permitting work for the repair.

  • December 2023 – Developed 50% Design Plans.
  • January 2024 – 50% Design Plans review and revisions.
  • February 2024 –Developed 75% Design Plans and exhibits for permitting.
  • March 2024 –75% Design Plans revisions.
  • April/May 2024 – 75% Design Plans revisions and prepared documents for environmental permits.
  • June/July 2024 - Environmental permitting process is in progress.
  • August to October 2024 - 75% Design and Environmental Documents are being reviewed.
