Project Description
The main windsock at the Half Moon Bay Airport is a navigational equipment that provides pilots with a visual indication of wind conditions near the runway during landing and takeoff operations, and is required by the Federal Aviation Administration.
The existing windsock at the Half Moon Bay Airport is beyond its useful life. The airport is replacing the windsock to maintain compliance with Federal Aviation Administration safety and design standards.
The windsock replacement project is being paid for with Federal Aviation Administration grant funding (90%) and Airport Enterprise Funds (10%).
