On-Call Architectural Consulting Services
The Department of Public Works Capital Projects section is seeking qualified consultants for On-Call Architectural Consulting Services for a variety of Capital Projects within the County of San Mateo managed under the Department of Public Works. The selected firms should anticipate being called upon to deliver a variety of project types of varying degrees of complexity and scale. Some of the projects that may be requested include early-stage design services such as needs assessment, programming, concept design, schematic design, feasibility studies, mid- and late-stage projects with design and engineering services related to design development, construction documentation, construction administration, and project closeout. Projects may include, but is not limited to, general construction, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and space planning and Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) projects. Requested services may involve an entire project or for a portion of a project or for any project phase. Specific to project onsite responsiveness, architectural firm and space planning firm’s respective subconsultants shall be within proximity of the County of San Mateo whereby a same day project site visit requires immediate attention.
Half Moon Bay Airport Electrical Vault and Generator Project
The electrical systems serving the airfield lighting at the Half Moon Bay Airport require replacement due to their deterioration, as most of these systems have been in place since the original date of construction of the Airport in 1942. The Half Moon Bay Airport Electrical Vault & Generator Project includes the installation of a new electrical vault to replace the existing electrical vault serving the airfield lighting systems, as well as a new diesel-powered generator to supply the airfield lighting systems with power for a minimum of 24 hours, in the event of electrical power outages. Back up power for the airfield lighting systems will improve the Airport’s electrical resiliency and usability during power outages on the coast.
