The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for areas in San Mateo County for Tuesday, November 5 and Wednesday, November 6. A Red Flag Warning means warm temperatures, very low humidity, and stronger winds are expected to combine to produce an increased risk of fire.
During this period, campfires are not allowed in any San Mateo County park, and BBQs are not permitted at drop-in picnic sites. Park visitors in reserved picnic sites are restricted to charcoal BBQs only—no wood fires. Some parks will be closed while others may have closed trails or areas. See the park advisories listed below for specific details.
- Coyote Point Recreation Area
- Crystal Springs Regional Trail
- Edgewood Park
- Huddart Park
- Junipero Serra Park
- Memorial Park
- Sam McDonald Park
- San Bruno Mountain Park
- San Pedro Valley Park
- Quarry Park
Please use caution and be aware of the conditions when visiting parks during this period. Check for updates here before going to a San Mateo County Park, and heed all in-park signage, including closed areas. High winds may cause tree debris and even tree limbs to fall on park trails. If conditions worsen, further restrictions or closures may be implemented.
