Some trails and park service closures, including campfires and BBQs
October 16, 2024
  • The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for areas in San Mateo County beginning the evening of Thursday, October 17 and lasting through Saturday, October 19. A Red Flag Warning means warm temperatures, very low humidities, and stronger winds are expected to combine to produce an increased risk of fire danger.

For now, no San Mateo County Parks are planned to close, but if conditions grow more severe than initially predicted, parks may close. Check for updates here before going to a San Mateo County Park. As well, as a safety precaution, the following parks will have restrictions in place and possible area closures:

Please use caution and be aware of the conditions when visiting parks during this period. Heed all in-park signage including closed areas. High winds may cause tree debris to fall on park trails and even tree limbs to fall.
